Affiliate Disclosure Policy

How This Site Is Funded

Manuka & Wound Science is an independent research and education platform. Maintaining live apiary data feeds, sourcing peer-reviewed literature, and building interactive tools requires ongoing investment. Affiliate partnerships are one of the ways we fund this work.

When you click certain product links on this site and make a purchase, we may receive a small commission from the retailer. This happens at no additional cost to you. The price you pay is identical whether you arrive at the retailer through our link or through a direct search.

Which Links Are Affiliate Links?

Every affiliate link on this site is marked with the rel="sponsored" attribute in the HTML source code. This is the standard Google and FTC require for paid or commissioned links. On pages containing affiliate links, you will also see a visible disclosure banner near the top of the page that reads:

Affiliate Transparency: This page contains links to products we have independently evaluated. Purchases through these links support our research at no additional cost to you.

If a page does not display this banner, it contains no affiliate links.

Our Affiliate Partners

We currently participate in the following affiliate programs:

Wedderspoon (via AWIN Network)

Wedderspoon produces raw Manuka honey products sourced from New Zealand. We link to their consumer-grade honeys as maintenance and wellness products. We do not represent their products as medical devices or sterile wound care solutions.

As we expand our Heritage & Provisions section, additional affiliate partnerships may be added for varietal honeys, apiary equipment, and pollinator habitat supplies. This page will be updated to reflect any new partnerships.

Product Selection Criteria

A product does not appear on this site simply because an affiliate program exists for it. Our selection process evaluates three factors before any product is featured:

Documented Quality

The product must have verifiable quality markers. For honey, this means third-party MGO or NPA testing. For equipment, this means materials and tolerances suitable for research-grade apiary operations.

Topical Relevance

The product must relate directly to a topic covered in our editorial content. We do not feature products outside the domains of apiculture, honey science, pollinator ecology, or wound care.

Editorial Independence

No affiliate partner has editorial influence over our research content. Product recommendations are never placed inside clinical research pages, SOP manuals, or peer-reviewed literature summaries.

Separation of Research and Commerce

This is the most important distinction on our site. Our clinical research pages, including the Biofilm Destruction protocols, Medical-Grade Standards documentation, Bee-to-Bandage SOPs, and all peer-reviewed literature summaries, operate independently from affiliate content. These pages contain zero affiliate links and never will.

Affiliate product links appear only on pages explicitly designated for product evaluation or consumer-facing content. These pages are housed in a separate section of the site and carry different editorial standards than our research publications.

FTC Compliance

This disclosure policy complies with the Federal Trade Commission's Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising (16 CFR Part 255). All material connections between Manuka & Wound Science and the products we recommend are disclosed clearly and conspicuously on each relevant page.

If you have questions about any affiliate relationship on this site, contact us and we will identify the specific program and commission structure for any link you ask about.

Your Trust Matters

If we ever feature a product that falls short of the quality we described, tell us. Our reputation as a research-first platform depends on getting this right. Affiliate revenue supports the work, but the work itself must stand on its own merit.
